A: The ideal distance for a large hammock is 15 feet or between 13-16 feet. The

distance for any hammock is about two feet more than the whole length of the
hammock when measured from ring to ring.
The recommended height for the placement of the tree hook is between 4 and
5 feet. If your supports are closer than the above recommended length, the tree
hooks should be raised.

**Heights in the shaded areas are not recommended because the
hammock may have too pronounced of an arch, possibly making it uncomfortable. |
| Important Note: It is normal for a new hammock to be up to 2 feet shorter. A new hammock is in an "unstretched state." With the first use, the hammock will stretch from 1 to 2 feet . You may need to use a small extension of chain or rope during the initial hanging. But stretching will occur and the hammock will gain its proper length. |
Q: Life Expectancy of a hammock?
A: Climate, Care and material that the hammock is made of all contribute to the
life expectancy of a hammock. Store your hammock indoors during extreme
weather conditions and when not in use for long durations. Investing time in the
care of your hammock will maximize its life expectancy.
Q: Care and Maintenance of a rope hammock?
Below are some helpful tips:
- It is a good idea to wax natural spreader bars regularly, to help protect the
finish and prevent moisture from affecting the wood,
- Optimally, the hammock should be used in a dry location without excessive
direct sunlight which naturally weathers the wood, and stored overnight to
dry and prevent prolonged exposure to moisture or humidity.
- Anything left damp too long will develop mold or mildew.
- Don't leave the hammock lying in the grass!
- Winter-store your hammock completely dry, preferably in a closed bag/box.
